Hello,
My mother lived in the Damloup barracks from 1945-1951, then emigrated to the United States. I was happy to see photos of the barracks before they were demolished. Happy that new homes are being constructed for families. My mother worked on a farm nearby on Maestrup #7 for the Baker family (possibly spelled Becker). She worked on the farm from 1939-1945. The owners were Franz and Gertrude Baker and they had six children: Franz, Leo, Paula, Elisabeth were some of the names. Does anyone know any history of that road? Perhaps it was renamed? I would appreciate it if you can guide me how to find the location of the farm if it still exists. My mother has mentioned that she could walk to Rheine from where she worked on the farm. Thank you!
